The story begins with our founders…

We are a couple, a team, and parents of a large family. Everything you see at Chertkov Academy was born from our shared path — through sport, parenting, challenges, travel, teamwork, long days and late nights planning events — and a deep love for the work we're building together.

Yana Chertkova is the organiser behind all Academy operations and events. A mother of four, manager, event producer and designer, she's the person whose work often goes unseen, yet nearly every process rests on her shoulders: from communications and social media to celebrations and the overall atmosphere of the space.

Oleksandr Chertkov is the Academy's head coach, a Sensei (3rd Dan), seven-time Champion of Ukraine, European and Asian Championships medallist, and World Championships competitor. With 35+ years in martial arts, he has coached more than 2,000 students and mentored champions and the next generation of coaches.
